Summer 2018 Virtual Meeting

 

Agenda items for the meeting on June 19, 12:00 – 1:30 PM EDT are:

 

  1. Review of Meeting Etiquette and Policies (5 minutes)
  2. Brief summary of WG activities (no longer than 10 minutes)
  3. Review of BJZ Round Robin Data (10-15 minutes) 
  4. Review/finalization of WIP 15.1 draft (30 – 40 minutes) Review of Comments: Annex B for Surface & Volume Resistance of Intrinsic materials that may fail test but pass Café’ at 12%RH. Bare hand Café concerns. TR53 for ambient in-house or factor level periodic verification versus STM protocols. New Photographs of Café bare finger benchmark.
  5. Final review/adjudication of TAS comments to ensure all comments are adequately addressed. (15-20 minutes)

April 2018 Face-to-Face

 Summary of meeting activities:
The working group reviewed a brief history of the WG for new guests. Then a presentation was given on data collected for surface resistance testing of nitrile gloves in comparison to the current procedures in ANSI/ESD SP15.1. Also, bare finger CAFÉ’ testing using various resistance meters at both 10 and 100 volts was conducted. Reference to ANSI/ESD STM11.11, ANSI/ESD STM11.12, and ANSI/ESD STM11.13 will be added to the updated document. New data was collected from one of the round robin test labs and will be resubmitted to the statistics committee for review. The WG adjudicated TAS comments on the document and will resubmit for another TAS review.

Agenda items for the meeting on April 13, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT are:

 

  1. Continue Adjudication of TAS comments on the document with focus on the following:
    1. Discussion on the comments about Humidity requirements- nothing resolved during the winter VMS meeting.
    2. Discussion on the TAS comments on the removal of references to 11.11 and 11.12 – general comment is that it should be in the document – nothing resolved during the VMS. Dave Swenson and Dale Parkin to report on the development of appropriate wording to place in the document that would reference 11.11 and 11.12 requirements.
    3. Open discussion/vote on this point and modify document as appropriate.
    4. Discussion on the baseline resistance measurement – no resolution during VMS.

 

  • Bob Vermillion present/discuss his comments on the issue.
  • Dave Swenson discuss previous data as to why this step was added to the original 15.1 (and other documents).

 

    1. Revise the document as appropriate
    2. Review/Adjudicate any additional TAS comments
  1. Obtain consensus from the group on submitting the document to TAS

 


 

Winter 2018 Virtual Meeting
A brief history of the WG was presented to attendees. The committee reviewed and adjudicated technical comments from the technical and advisory support committee on the revisions made during the five-year review of ANSI/ESD SP15.1. Further discussions will take place at the April face-to-face meeting series.


September 2017 Face-to-Face Meeting

Agenda items for the meeting on September 7, 2017, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm MST are:
a. Presentation on the need for strengthening some technical requirements in the WIP 15 document.
i. Discuss the results of some experiments that show the need for these technical changes
b. Review and discussion of the changes in the document – make additional changes if needed.
c. Obtain consensus from the group on submitting the document to TAS for Winter VMS review/comment.
d. If time permits – discuss the validity of ESD TR15.0-01-99


Summer 2017 Virtual Meeting
Summary of meeting activities
The statistics committee presented the round robin testing results. The statistics committee concluded that the test methods in ANSI/ESD SP15.1 are repeatable and reproducible; and the document can be re-designated as a standard test method. The working group started reviewing the current standard practice document and making the necessary revisions to submit the document to TAS for review. The working group also discussed the validity of ESD TR15.0-01-99 - ESD Glove and Finger Cots. Members were asked to review the document and be prepared to discuss recommendations for revision or withdrawal at the September face-to-face meeting.

Agenda items for the meeting on July 19, 2017, 3:30 – 5:00 PM ET are:
a.      Review of Statistics Committee findings and recommendation
b.      Initial review of changes to WIP15.1 based on round robin results
c.      Discussion on the validity of TR15.0-01.99 Gloves and Finger COTs – is it still valid?
d.      Review of Citrix Shared File use.


April 2017 Face-to-Face Meeting
Summary of meeting activities
The committee reviewed the results of the completed round robin testing that will be submitted to the statistics committee for review before the July meeting series.

Agenda items for the meeting on April 28, 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM MT are:
a.      Presentations by each laboratory on round robin test results
b.     Open discussion on next steps once we receive the Statistics Committee report

The committee discussed the status of the round robin testing. Testing at a minimum of four labs is expected to be completed by the April meeting series; one lab has completed all of the testing to date.

Summary of meeting activities
The history of WG 15 was presented to the attendees as well as the current status of the two documents the working group is currently developing. The committee then worked to finalize plans for the round robin currently scheduled to take place in August in an effort to redesignate ANSI/ESD SP15.1 to a standard test method.

Summary of meeting activities
The WG discussed the impending round robin test to determine if the data obtained by the test method in ANSI/ESD SP15.1 is repeatable and reproducible; if so the document will be re-designated as a standard test method. The 15.2 subcommittee is gathering additional test methods for measuring triboelectric charge on gloves and finger cots. The previous work-in-progress document will be rewritten to include the new information and published as a technical report instead of a standard practice.
