ROME, NY – The EOS/ESD Association, Inc. recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Philip S. McDonald Police Benevolent Association, Inc. (Rome, NY)

Annually, the Phillip S. McDonald Police Benevolent Association of the Rome Police Department provides support to community enrichment programs for both children and adults. In 2022, the EOS/ESD Association, Inc. (ESDA) received a letter seeking additional support from community members for these programs.

Lisa Pimpinella, Executive Director for the ESDA said, “On behalf of the Board of Directors of the EOS/ESD Association, Inc., we support the local community in various ways each year. To see the number of different organizations that the PBA supports, we felt that it was a perfect fit for how we would like our support distributed. Not to mention, the Rome Police Department has been a long-time partner of ours, especially since we have moved our headquarters to downtown Rome in 2021.”

According to the PBA’s letter of support, they have historically supported the American Cancer Society, the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, the Bobby Page Foundation, Shop with a Cop, Relay for Life, Rome Rescue Mission, local places of worship, area youth sports teams, and athletic programs.

The EOS/ESD Association, Inc. is a 501’C’3 non-profit organization and is dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of electrostatic discharge (ESD) avoidance.

The EOS/ESD Association, Inc. was founded in Rome, NY in 1982, has grown to 15,869+ members and volunteers, and 55+ participating countries, including the U.S. and Canada. Initially focusing on ESD on electronic components, the Association has expanded its reach to include areas such as textiles, plastics, web processing, cleanrooms, and graphic arts. Due to a continually changing environment, the association is chartered to expand ESD awareness through standards, development, education programs, local chapters, publications, tutorials, certification, and symposia. It is the only organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to write and produce standards on electrostatics.
