Volume 19, No. 3 May/June 2003 It all began 25 years ago in Denver, Colorado–a legacy that now includes nearly 1,000 technical papers, 2,500 authors, 7,500 pages of proceedings, a myriad of tutorials and workshops, and hundreds of volunteers. This is the legacy that stands to be ful- filled as the EOS/ESD Symposium returns to the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 21-25, 2003 for its 25th anni- versary. More than 50 technical papers will be featured in 8 technical sessions. Nineteen tutorials will help attendees advance their education and progress toward certification. Eight workshops will provide opportunities for in-depth discussion of critical issues. Elsewhere in this issue and in the July/August issue of Threshold , you’ll find additional details on this year’s high quality technical program, representing the best education and the latest research and technology that the international ESD community has to offer. The legacy of the EOS/ESD Symposium is also one that deserves to be feted. And, what better location than Las Vegas to cel- ebrate. On Tuesday evening, September 23, Symposium attendees will gather at the Top of the Riv for a gala celebration. Symposium to turn 25 in gala style The special and auspicious evening includes dinner, the annual ESD Associa- tion membership meeting, awards, and a very special entertainment review called the “History of ESD, Part 1”. Replacing and expanding upon the traditional ESD Association Luncheon and the annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner, this extraordinary event is dedicated to the volunteers who have made the 25-year history of the EOS/ESD Symposium pos- sible. The celebration will recognize all those attendees and members, past and present, who have contributed countless hours to advance the science of electro- static control throughout industry. Skits, songs, awards, recognitions, surprises, and a whole lot of fun will be the theme for the evening. Each registered attendee will receive one ticket for the evening event, and exhibitors will receive one ticket for each booth space purchased. Admis- sion includes dinner and one drink of choice. A no-host bar will be available throughout the evening. Additional tick- ets are available for purchase when you register for the Symposium or on site. If purchased by August 8, additional tickets will cost $45. If purchased after August 8 or on site, they are $65. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve all the seats you require. You’ll find all the details in the preliminary program that will be mailed in early summer and also available on the Association’s Web site, www.esda.org . See you at the Top of the Riv !
