ANSI/ESD S20.20
ESD Association Standard for the Development of an Electrostatic Discharge Control Program for Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies, and Equipment (Excluding Electrically Initiated Explosive Devices)
The standard provides administrative and technical requirements for establishing, implementing, and maintaining an ESD control program.
ESD TR53-01-22
ESD Association Technical Report for the Protection of Electrostatic Discharge Susceptible Items – Compliance Verification of ESD Protective Equipment and Materials
The purpose of this technical report is to provide compliance verification test procedures and troubleshooting guidance for ESD protective equipment and materials. Test results may be used for the Compliance Verification Plan Requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20 or those of the user if more restrictive.
ANSI/ESD S541
ESD Association Standard for the Protection of Electrostatic Discharge Susceptible Items – Packaging Materials
This standard defines the packaging properties needed to protect electrostatic discharge susceptible (ESDS) electronic items through all phases of production, transport, and storage. Packaging requirements are defined to support the ESD control program requirements stated in ANSI/ESD S20.20. Test methods are referenced for the evaluation of ESD protective packaging and packaging materials. Required limits are provided.
ESD TR20.20
ESD Association Technical Report – Handbook for the Development of an Electrostatic Discharge Control Program for the Protection of Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment
Provides guidance that can be used for developing, implementing, and monitoring an electrostatic discharge control program in accordance with ANSI/ESD S20.20. This handbook applies to activities that include manufacturing, processing, assembling, installing, packaging, labeling, servicing, testing, inspecting, or otherwise handling electrical or electronic parts, assemblies, and equipment susceptible to damage by electrostatic discharges greater than or equal to 100 volts human body model (HBM), 200 volts charged device model (CDM), and exposure to charged isolated conductors.
IEC 61340-5-1
IEC 61340-5-1 is technically equivalent to ANSI/ESD S20.20.
Electrostatics - Part 5-1: Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena - General requirements
Applies to activities that: manufacture, process, assemble, install, package, label, service, test, inspect, transport or otherwise handle electrical or electronic parts, assemblies and equipment with withstand voltages greater than or equal to 100 V HBM, 200 V CDM and 35 V for isolated conductors.
IEC TR 61340-5-2
IEC TR 61340-5-2 is technically equivalent to ESD TR20.20.
Electrostatics - Part 5-2: Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena - User guide
Supports IEC 61340-5-1, applies to activities that: manufacture, process, assemble, install, package, label, service, test, inspect, transport or otherwise handle electrical or electronic parts, assemblies and equipment with withstand voltages greater than or equal to 100 V HBM, 200 V CDM and 35 V for isolated conductors.
IEC 61340-5-3
IEC 61340-5-3 is technically equivalent to ANSI/ESD S541.
Electrostatics - Part 5-3: Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena - Properties and requirements classification for packaging intended for electrostatic discharge sensitive devices
Defines the ESD protective packaging properties required to protect ESD sensitive devices (ESDSs) through all phases of production, rework and maintenance, transport and storage.
IEC TS 61340-5-4
IEC TS 61340-5-4 is technically equivalent to ESD TR53-01.
Electrostatics - Part 5-4: Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena - Compliance verification
Describes compliance verification testing for technical items that are included in ESD control programs, such as those specified in IEC 61340-5-1.
